Latasha Brown, a Clarksville, Tennessee native and graduate of Austin Peay State University, dares to become a hotelier. It wasn't until 2016 that she decided to step out of her comfort zone to begin her entrepreneurial journey. Latasha created her own real estate investing firm, 1st Legacy Homes, which is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2019, she became a member of The Greater Louisville Association of Realtors® specializing in international real estate transactions.

A few years later, a shift in vision led her to pivot towards her Global Lofts concept which is slated to connect leisure travelers to globally-inspired staycation experiences without leaving the United States. Global Lofts emerges as a communal-inspired hospitality company aiming to make the world abroad accessible through multinational food, themed accommodations, and cultural experiences reflecting local international communities.

Latasha's vision is inspired by her own wanderlust and desire to globetrot, exploring various cultures, cuisines, and languages. However, she discovered through her own experience and research, that world travel was especially inaccessible to those who may not have the finances or leisure time for international travel. Through Global Lofts she hopes to encourage cross cultural exchange as well as improve international relations with global partners.

The National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators and Developers (NABHOOD) estimates that less than one percent of hotels are owned by African-American women (Choice Hotels Press Release, 2019). Latasha is a millennial, female, entrepreneur of color who looks forward to joining the ranks of Stay Homage, Akwaaba Inns, and Salamander Resort, all concepts which are owned by hoteliers of color who represent a small fraction of the United States lodging industry.

As beautifully spoken by Nelson Mandela, "It always seems impossible until it's done”. Latasha eagerly looks forward to Global Lofts Boutique Hotels connecting travelers to an undiscovered world.
